Good garage in Maidstone recommendations

Hello all,

My father-in-law has a Mazda 6. Not sure what year it is as he has a private plate on it, but I think it's around seven years old.

Anyway, it was recently immobilised and he had it taken to the main Mazda dealer which diagnosed a failed sensor in the steering column (presumably linked to the ignition - he wasn't sure) and they want £1600 to replace the entire steering column.

I said that sound ridiculous and he should try to find a good independent instead. Obviously he'd have to get the car recovered there but hopefully the cost of that would be overridden by a far smaller bill.

So, can anyone recommend a decent garage in the Maidstone area? Thank you very much in advance for your thoughts.

Thank you, much appreciated. After consulting several independents, including one Mazda specialist, he had to take it to an official Mazda dealer in the end as everyone else advised they would not be able to do the work as it included immobiliser coding.

I'll pass on your recommendation to him for future work though.
