Thanks. But I’m not looking for regs or process. I’m looking for someone to do the work. I’m also in Bucks not Beds.

As the OP has already pointed out, your link is for BEDFORDSHIRE. The OP is in BUCKINGHAMSHIRE.

The rules in Bucks are not the same as the rules in Beds. In Bucks a dropped kerb needs to be installed by a contractor that is approved by the council - not by the council themselves.

That'll be £295, notwithstanding any PP required and the cost of the plans, etc,

We looked into this recently.

I know its not the same area, but in Northamptonshire you have to apply to the council for the sum of £25 and they do a site visit and basically say yes or no - they give you a letter of confirmation which lasts 12m and a list of about 40 approved contractors ( around half of these are larger contractors that do motorways and industrial and aren't going to bother with a couple of metres of kerb on a residential estate).

You have to choose one of the ones on the list. Then once you've chosen your contractor they have to apply for the "license" to do it, which costs £300. The council wont issue a license to anyone not on the list. Then once its done they come out and inspect and sign off the work.

If its the same in your area it might be worth getting the list of approved contractors from the council and go from there.

He wasn't asking for county regs but people to do the work, they can come from Beds or Bucks.

On the 3rd post on this thread, where the OP says he's in Bucks and not Beds.

Agreed - the original post referencing Beds is prior to this, but the sarky follow-up about him not reading it definitely doesn't.

Have you already spoken to Bedfordshire Borough Council? If not, you'll be needing this link:

Bedfordshire Borough Council said:
You are not allowed to drive over a footway or verge unless a vehicle crossing has been constructed by us in accordance with section 184 of the Highways Act 1980.

Only we can build vehicle crossovers. It is an offence for anyone else to make any changes to the public footway.
It's also worth noting:

Bedfordshire Borough Council said:
A crossing which covers the full frontage will not be permitted except in exceptional circumstances.

...or maybe you're not providing us with all the information?

Is the dropped kerb for accessing your property from the road?

I read the title... I read post 3 too...

I also see you're avoiding a direct question about your intentions.

...now if I was reading between the lines too, it's coming across that you're looking to commit an offence by employing a contractor, other than the council, to install a dropped kerb outside your property.

Uh hu...

How about answering a direct question with a simple "Yes" or "No":

Is the dropped kerb for accessing your property from the road?
