Metal work/Fabrication experienced Classic Car Bodyshop

Hi,

Looking for a classic car restoration bodyshop with metal fabricators to carry out an undercarriage restoration of my car. I'm in North Hertfordshire near Royston but am happy to travel.

The car has just been painted (windows our etc) and looks nice but made the mistake of not going to a classic restoration place. They didn't have a lift and have crushed my jacking points and having had a nose around myself I can see the car needs work under there with flaking underseal. Got a 2cm rust hole for example and the inner rear arches where they meet the outer are already bleeding a bit of rust through even though the car has only done 30 miles since paint!

The undercarriage wasn't part of the job to be fair but still would have been nice to be told/had the option to repair. They repaint 'shop wasn't set up for this type work.

So looking for a garage that knows what they are doing with older cars.

Not the first time I’ve recommended Finishline in Graveley but I know they do chassis repairs and full body restorations on classics. Chris the owner has toured me round a few of them in their workshop.

I’m sure there are other experts out there but Finishline is the only one I’ve used hence me being a stuck record.

I've been to see Customs and Classics in Guilden Morden who are front runners so far. I was able to contact someone who has had many cars worked on there via a non connected source so that was good to hear.
