No, that's a Chinese person.
that'll come in handy when we have to sell one to them by the old Chinese "hotel and casino" ploy.

It's a strange looking beast, like the captain paid more for a forward looking cabin.

I have to confess as being brought up on Ark Royal and then Hermes, it is nice to see us with a new top notch aircraft carrier. And not only one ....

Not quite sure where we would use them in this day and age, perhaps the Spaniards off Gibraltar? Argentinians have got the worlds worst armed forces and for any bigger deal the US will take the lead.

What's the total cost with the F35's?

Upgraded F18's for the UK on a carrier designed for them, what would be the cost for that 4th gen version? F18's are still shooting down Russian built planes no problem.

Judging by her track on Marine Traffic, QE spent yesterday hooning about in the Firth of Forth. However, she was accompanied by the frigate HMS Sutherland, and judging by HER track, someone's been overdoing their rum ration.

After she has finished buggering about in the Forth, and they have fixed the bits that will have fallen off, does anyone know if she will go to RNAD Coulport for weapons, or are ships' explodey stuff kept elsewhere?

I'm guessing pretty high up the "we've got a new toy, lets see if it meets the spec" test list is max turning rate tests !

If the rudder snaps off the first time you go hard-a-starboard, then it's handy to be just a few miles away from home...... ;-)

Looks like the AA systems aren't operational yet then...

I think conventional whizz-bangs are kept at DM Crombie, just along from Rosyth. Coulport is where they keep the nuclear stuff.

That's Sutherland's track, Brenda's is a bit more sedate.

What weapons? Phalanx and some mini guns?
Coulport deals almost exclusively in tooling up subs.

Surely when they do speed trials etc. we won't be able to track it on AIS?

They should have been allowed to use the GIMPY to have a go at that drone.......might have been amusing smile

I dare say someone might have complained about 7.62 being sprayed around the Forth though biggrin

You only get a perspective on how big this thing is when you notice the people moving about on the flight deck.
