Currently docked at Invergordon whilst on sea trials in the Moray Firth. Think I heard it is being refuelled.

You mean you have to refuel it?

Yes but imagine the loyalty club points, every 100,000,000,000,000,000,000 points they get a free F35B.

It appears that they are also trying to deal with something which has fouled one of the propellors. Not clear on how serious it is, but I gather it was a planned stop so not once forced by the fouling issue.

It will be like a new car. Never comes with a full tank.

Just seen that on the news. A precautionary check on a propeller after a fouling.

Or more like a string of lobster pots.....
Funny how when they make an insurance claim, they were a brand really long string of pots, also did I mention gold plated and expensive .... and had the worlds biggest sight marker, no idea how anyone could run over them.
In reality there would have been less than a dozen old knackered pots, held together with rotten ginger string all identified with a 5ltr clear plastic half submerged marker...oh yeah dropped in a Nav channel cause there were easy pickings to be had...

left Invergordon last night (was ready Saturday but Tugs couldnt pull her off the quay in the wind!)

apparently no vibration issues, and shes comfortably exceeded her test speed, tonight is high speed turn testing....

Im told that 'smiff should be expecting a large grey ship flying a white ensign soon (decision described as "Politics over Engineering")- she's unlikely to go back to Rosyth due to issues getting her in and out as it needs NO WIND and how much of a chance is that in Nov in Rosyth (when they would expect her to leave again) and there is no room for 2 of them in the basin if bad weather delays her getting back out.

If JC ever gets in, the white flag will be standard issue for all RN ships.

She didn't really have much of a navy. Relied largely on privateers. The RN should have done a PFI deal on the carriers to properly emulate her.

A propos of the lack of a catapult, and thus the limited options for any aircraft post F35 - I guess the generation of aircraft that comes after the F35 will be unmanned, probably much cheaper, smaller and lighter than current a/c so no need to worry.
