Does that really count as lifting? It's just using physics. Even you with a bucket could lift the cruise ship like that if you had enough time!

Dunbar lifeboat moves to safety of habour

Scary enough until the end when you watch the view as it squeezes into the harbour eek

I have never been to Dunbar harbour before, but looking at the chart the entrance faces north west, so mostly a following sea on the way in.

Seems like a case of as much power as you dare to maintain steering and hoping for the best.

Looks like it. Video ended rather abruptly; do you think he clouted the left bank 2 secs later?

So that's what you do when being the Potter Heigham bridge pilot is to slow!

Lol imagine not quite making the landing and going over the side with that lot strapped to you.
I hope there have been practiced 'get this ruddy sht off quick' exercises in a controlled environment somewhere!

That's the MV Suilven - she sailed for over two decades off the west coast of Scotland with Caledonian MacBrayne, then was sold to New Zealand operators, then to Fiji, where she had a sad end to her career:

What a cracking bit of boat, proper boat shaped boat, with solid traditional lines and a proper name.

Love it.

That is fair impressive! Must be a paint to paint the over hanging end of the bulbous bow....

The "old" entrance to the East used to be much more exciting!

I believe this is normal practise for Dunbar in bad weather - full throttle and hang on!

It must have been bad for them to move the boat - they lost one a few years back at the Torness pier in similar weather:-

Need to win lottery, checked under the sofa and still not enough! Remember seeing a hull near Southampton docks many moons ago when I was learning to sale, looked awesome just bare hull.
