Today the Kiwis slaughtered us, we apparently suffered some kind of gear failure, but we managed to beat the French due to a penalty. The French were faster than us on the water.

Qualified for the semis, but unless BAR can address the boatspeed problem we need others to fail (penalties or gear failure) if we are to win. Sir Ben will need to emulate his Laser performance at the Sydney 2000 Olympics to win this.
It looks like there may be some advantage in the foil design rather than the hydraulics stuff? Team New Zealand seem to be keeping the hull out of the water almost all of the time even in lighter wind conditions. Any hydrodynamicists in that can explain the differences in foil design? smile

As per another thread - I've found it all on Freeview ch 115.

Whether that changes once the tempo / competition changes, I don't know.....
Good spot!
Watching now, shame about the Brits today.

Hydraulic ram broke, out of today's races.

Two down, 2nd race black flagged due to the ram seemingly being the camber inducer in the wing.

Kiwi's out hitting 45kts and looking very good, I think they have hot the best way to replenish the hydraulic pressure with the cycles rather than the arm cranks.

NZ has beaten BAR three out of three now.

Are we out of this yet?

(I don't understand how the semifinals work..)

1st to 5 in this round. Currently 3-1 to NZL.

let's see how much damage they've done after their pitchpole.

They were commenting that BAR have never used boat in such winds, but all teams agreed the limits

Cheers. I had thought it was best of 5. That makes sense now.

I seem to remember that John Bertrand's Australia II was in a 3-nil losing position in the 1983 AC, but came back to win it.

Hate to be unsporting, but let's hope the NZ boat is a bit bent.

They are all fine. The top of the wing is totalled I think this was their second wing. Do they have a third, or will one of the damaged ones be repaired? These are the questions.

Today's postponement will help NZ. Not good.

They’ve had a lot of luck but also they do have a better energy process and I believe if they can fix it they’re in with a chance of the trophy.

They were apparently going to stick the two broken ones together to make one good one.
