Aahhhhhh......a nice lovely day off work......think I'll nip off for some exciting boxing related shenanigans...I'd let you all know what I've got planned.....bit I'm afraid I'll have to keep it all hush hush.

Hmm.......Kovalev knockout again....hardly surprising but the pascal versus gonzalez fight!!!!!!!! fk me that was a corker. I think I'm in the minority but I agree with the judges. Pascal by 2 rounds seems fair despite the boos from the crowd. He showed better skills especially on the back foot and he seemed to land the more powerful shots. Gonzalez first foray into the big time was a success though. Great fighter with a great future ahead of him

woohoo

http://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/9925127...

This has the potential to be an absolute epic, as long as Lemieux isn't overawed by the situation or tries to change his natural game to combat Golovkin. He probably won't win but you'd pretty much be guaranteed fireworks for as long as it lasted. Now starting to consider this as an away trip over the Klitschko-Fury fight...MSG as well scratchchin

Beautiful 1-2 combination (actually, 2-1 combination as he threw the right first) that Kovalev used to put Mohammedi away. Really hope boxing politics doesn't scupper a unification fight with Stevenson or an all-Russian contest with Beterbiev (another that has the potential to be epic). Ward would be very interesting too but don't think it would have the drama of those other match-ups...

all credit to lemieux for taking this fight. phenominal match up. i can't think of 2 harder punching middleweights.

the natural thing to do is compare their relative performances against rubio......but that's not really fair, rubio turned up for a pay day against golovkin but when he stopped lemieux in montreal david was very green and hadn't met any resistance up to that [point. rubio "old manned " him that night ........and that was 4 years ago when rubio had far more ambition.....

a weekend in new york for that one would be epic. that may just take presidence for me too as the missus isn't keen on dusseldorf and the associated loutish brits on the piss that will surely be in attendance in droves

oooh new thread.

I'm very excited about GGG and Lemeniux too, it would be great to see a proper unified champion in at least one weight division, I hope GGG can do it before moving up in weight for these massive payday fights, but of course that would mean beating the winner of Andy Lee or BJS (which I have no doubt he can).

Does anyone have any recommendations on a sub £50 pair of boxing gloves?(my everlast have done well but not lasted as long as forever) used for hitting pads/bag and some light sparring, I have the wrists and forearms of a 10 year old girl so they need to be small and adjustable.

Campbell vs Coyle this weekend. Any predictions?

I reckon Campbell will win by KO within 6 rounds.

They'd probably fit but my ego may be too fragile for the "banter" I'd receive. smile

if you can stretch to 60 quid then my vote goes to hayabusa 12oz. excellent wrist protection and the hand moulding allows your thumb to wrap around properly rather than stick forward like you get in a lot of glove brands like "top ten"......i find anything for bagwork that is lighter than 12oz lets your wrists take a pounding. 12oz are generally accepted for sparring as well although some clubs insist on 14oz only for sparring.

for me the hayabusa are second only to cleto reyes......but they are double the price of the hayabusa!!!

Massive size advantage, Campbell is a lot quicker plus Coyle likes to go down. I don't think it will be massively one-sided for the first 2 rounds, but then Campbell will destroy him.

They had a sale on! These had the maximum discount so are currently winging their way to me... smile Hopefully understated enough to go unnoticed in the gym.

Excellent...with that saving, you should be able to afford a couple of these to fit inside them:

great glove at a cheap price!! they are exactly the same model as my spar gloves. you'll notice when you get them twin elasticated velcro on the wrists....very nice touch and you can feel the support given.....
