I don't think names shouldn't be speculated online until confirmation of next of kin being informed despite media reporting the pilots name... redcard

Jesus, that looked like it was wrong from the word go. Can only have been 150ft AGL at the start. Think he tried to roll out but far too low.
Grateful if you could explain that in words an idiot (me) would understand

I agree, its sad all round frown but isn't the name announced of the pilot as the plane flies in to display?

To be honest on the scale of things it just doesnt matter, hopefully by some miracle everyone survives.

150 ft above ground level.

What a sad day. My dad was one of the Black Arrows so have a soft spot for Hunters.

RIP to anyone that may have passed away frown

Sussex Police have already reported two cyclists on A27 were killed, so sadly that won't be true.

That would tie in with the pilot and the two cyclists. Let's hope no more.

This is ok Twitter. If the reports that 2 people were killed, although horrific s pretty miraculous considering where it crashed.

It looks like there is a crowd of people just feet away in the bottom right of that picture. I think it will be 'lucky' if its 3 dead.

I drove past it ten minutes before, there was a police cyclist at the entrance, I'm sure he will be gone.

Yup. I cycled down to the banks of the Adur last year, and could see lots of people up there watching from side of road then, and given the nice weather and being only half an hour or so before the Vulcan was due to display, I bet that area was packed with people.

As you say, if it stays a 3 it will be a minor miracle frown

From the organisers:-

"At about 1.20pm an aircraft hit several cars on the A27 just to the north of Shoreham Airport, where the Shoreham Airshow is taking place. There have been several casualties but we have no further information on these at the moment.

The A27 has been closed in both directions and drivers are asked to avoid the area until further notice.

Further information will be released as soon as possible.

All media enquiries should be directed to Sussex Police.

Comments are closed."

It sounded like two sonic booms and shook the building.
