1415 ish?
There was a 658sq Dauphin there around then, right colour scheme and they do make a racket with blade slap Pods thing may have been the wheel doors open?
I live close to G Sqn (if its still called that post ISRB whatever its called) so have had them doing bits and bobs over the years in those aircraft. I see them a couple of times a year toeing it into Manchester at low level usually out of a different location but this time they came from the Cranwell area.
Just seen an old Alouette helo chug past my window at low level.......and its not showing up with any reg or callsign on ADS-B, other than country of origin as Norway.
Seems there are a few over there, so I wonder if this has come over for an airshow, as it seem to have started its journey maybe at Lydd, so might have transited from Norway through Denmark, Holland etc to France, and then hopped across Channel at shortest point.
Will keep an eye on it to see where it ends up.

According to the Elite UK Forces website, 658 Squadron AAC (Army Air Corps) is a little-known, rarely-spotted unit operating a fleet of AS365N3 Dauphin 2 and Gazelle AH1 helicopters. It operates in support of the 22nd Special Air Service (22 SAS) with 658 Squadron based at SAS HQ at Credenhill, near Hereford.
Not that rarely spotted when you’re on their training flight path :-) I have had a good day for at home plane sporting. After the Apache earlier this flew over very low. It comes over a lot, distinctive sound, but it was doing a wide bank at about 1000ft. Not every day (never before today) you see a 4 engined plane banking towards your window at that height. Couldnt believe my eyes when I looked up
Annoyingly I was in a meeting with my camera on so couldn't get a photo.

It's not in the database because the transponder is miscoded. 2- reg is Guernsey and as you note, the hex belongs to Norway. ADSBx don't put miscodes in. It's quite likely that it should be 43EC77 rather than 47EC77 as the former would be in the correct range for Guernsey.Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
