Blackhawk to do with the airforce 1 plane above?
Just practice for the G7 or is biden coming over before that.

Is Stansted not the Secure airport where planes with problems etc land like if theres a hijack or similar?

Stansted is a long way from Carbis Bay though - they're spending about £8 million on tarting up Newquay Airport for the event - improved lighting, beefing up the taxiways and apron - in order to accept the G7 heads of state. I don't think the runway at Newquay is long enough for a 747 to depart fully loaded, but Air Force 1 could probably stop off at Prestwick to top up on the way home. Should be fine for everyone else though - Canadians in an A310, French in an A330 if they're feeling flash, the Germans probably won't like the optics of rolling up in an A340 so will turn up in something smaller, the Italians in an A319, the Japanese 777 will probably have to leave with less than full tanks, and Boris will probably take the train.

You might want to amend that. JTACS don't fly (Joint Terminal Attack Controllers - what used to be Forward Air Controllers until the Yanks HAD to change the term to suit them) .

JTACS don't DO CAS, Aircrew do that!
Close Air Support is the delivery of air effects in close proximity to friendly forces. JTACs are part of the delivery of these effects.

One of the Airborne Command Posts just landed at Stansted

Off again.

It flew right over my house at about 16,000ft. Here’s a photo of the underside.

Again, recce planning flight for Pres visit to G7 meeting in June I suspect.
For security reasons though you would think it would go into Mildenhall?
Nothing to do with G7

So will Biden take Airforce 2. Its a 757. Will that fit at Newquay?

It would still be Airforce 1 though even if he took the 757, as what ever aircraft the Pres is on adopts the callsign Airforce One....IIRC.
I think he'll come in on the 747 into Stansted anyway, and then use Marine One V-22 and helo's to get to US Embassy and down to Newquay?

I appreciate the call sign I was more wondering about the diffrent size aircraft and if it would fit at Newqusy. I called it Airforce 2 so you would know what plane I was on about.

I don't think there will be a problem of the 747 getting into and out of Newquay anyway, as its got a 9000ft runway, which should be plenty long enough for a AF1 to operate into and out of and get to the east coast of USA in one hop.

We had a pair of V-22 over Axminster, Devon on Monday.

The first time I've ever seen them here.

Is that likely to be G7 related?

Probably the pair of USMC ones that were at Farnborough, and my guess is yes, G7 related, doing recce flights for timings and suitability for Marine One going to-from G7.

Nope, they were a pair from the Iwo Jima which also gifted a pair of CH-53s, they’re here on training mission & could be due to take part in the upcoming Joint Warrior excercise

It seems a popular area for Harvards.
Last year I was walking along the coast near Boscastle and managed to snap these two, rubbish picture due to sunglasses making the screen all black , so it was point in the general direction and click.

Not on FR24, but yesterday I was out in my garden when a Hughes/Schweizer 300 flew over, heading ESE in the general direction of the Isle Of Wight from Bournemouth.

Pretty cool for a basic design which first flew in 1956...

An RC-135S Cobra Ball currently flying to Mildenhall from the Med as Olive16. It is one of 3 aircraft who track Ballistic Missile tests, and can be identified from other Rc-135's from the right wing and it's engines which are painted black to improve the performance of it's tracking camera.

Edit to add an older photo when they ran P&W TF33 turbofans, later re-engined with F108's, aka CFM56's.

thumbup I'll be keeping an eye out as it will be cool to see a different one of these, hopefully it will go into the circuit rather than straight in to Mildenhall.

It got to the Wash at 26000ft and then vanished but is that because it's tanking with LAGR147 which was in the same area?
