Possibly NY as Germany is now moving its gold reserves back to Germany, possibly via the Bank of England.

Hi Chaps,

Airports are delivery points for bullion and dore - most big ones will have vaults of the stuff.

Could be from anywhere really

No, I work airside right next to stand 607. Lots of law about created some excitement and a bit of patience led to the photo.

Reminds me of a conversation I had at Southend once when I went to pay my landing fee.

"Please remember to wear your hi vis when you walk across the apron"

"I was wearing my hi vis"

"No you weren't"

"How can you tell?"

"Because I could see y....dont' try and be clever" laugh

When i used to work for Securricor we often stored 100's of gold bars , mainly for the US government . They move them around for some reason.

300 or so gold bars loose on little steel pallets in the vault but the overtime cabinet was under lock n key.

I am surprised you are officially allowed to take and post these sort of photo's on an open forum when working airside with all the security issues surrounding places like Heathrow.

I'm rather guessing he isn't. Be careful especially when so much metadata is embedded in every photo you post online these days.

Definitely not allowed, and the OP is at risk of losing his pass and job.

I really wouldn't have thought that would get him in trouble. It's no different to if i had taken the photo from a Terminal lounge.

And there is no metadata in the photo, no EXIF info no GPS location logged.
