London is the world's largest storage centre for silver and diamonds, and the second biggest for gold (after NY), so that bullion shipment could have come from anywhere or anything. If the plane came from Stockholm via Lufthansa, as someone suggests, there is a fair chance it is Swedish gold.

I am surprised you are officially allowed to take and post these sort of photo's on an open forum when working airside with all the security issues surrounding places like Heathrow.
Definitely not allowed, and the OP is at risk of losing his pass and job.
No issue taking the photo at all, can snap away happily all day airside if you wish.

I would delete the bit where you state exactly where you were working as airport security do look into this kind of thing.
Photography normally requires permission.

And there is no metadata in the photo, no EXIF info no GPS location logged.
No GPS but unless the software is lying I know the date and time and model of smartphone used.

If you're allowed then fair enough, but honestly that's a surprise to me.

I could've easily taken the same photo from a plane window or the terminal.

If they don't want you to set what they are doing then they should be doing it in a hangar, not out in the open during daylight hours.

Calm down dears, nothing untoward with the photo or posting it.

Why are the 2 men to the left of the folklift, airside and not wearing hi vis.

LHR are nowhere near as strict about hi vis wearing than LGW, who insist you have it on at all times outside, and must be buttoned up. Some jobsworth at LGW pulled over a guy driving a bus because he had taken off his coat whilst driving the bus.

Actually, (at the risk of dissecting puppies), you couldn't have - stand 607 is in the cargo area on the south west of the airfield. The nearest terminal (4) is about 1km away as the crow flies. coffee

Yep would struggle to see this from a terminal however there is a main taxi way adjacent to 607 that is used for access to T4 depending on the direction of operation (East/West or West East). Could easily take a photo of the same scene from the opposite direction from a plane.
