Fiat Stilo Multiwagon

Actually quite nice inside and out with a solid diesel option (parents had one for a while) - but they just never took off for reasons I could never fathom. Even the sportier hatches didn't shift as much as Fiat were hoping.

Megane R26.R

Epic car but as I understand it, Renault send a number of them back from the UK to be sold elsewhere.

Ford Classic / Consul Capri / Corsair

VW Bora etc - any Golf with a boot

Nova with a boot, Focus with a boot, most things in recent years that were a hatchback with a boot!

Fiat Strada Abarth 130TC. Was nowhere near as unreliable as people think and didn't rust as bad as people made out. Well, mine and my mate's one didn't and his was by the coast for most of its life.

Saying that, I'm not sure if they came over here as a limited run as over 700 came to the UK.

I recall seeing a new one for sale in the depths of the financial crisis of late 2008/early 2009 for £16,500......

The short wheelbase one wasn't much of a seller, but they sold a few hundred of the LWB.

Renault Avantime and Vel Satis are two perfect examples.

Lupo GTI. Less than 1000 UK cars I believe due to their relatively high price.

In the UK: Renault Avantime (famous only for a lengthy appearance on Top Gear) - around 250.

Total built (according to Wiki): 8557

Once again Renault do something interesting and the majority of potential customers look the other way.

Seem to recall the Vel Satis and Megane RX4 were also pretty small sellers.

Didn't the original Espace sell 8 or 9 examples in the first month, but then went on to become a good seller?

Alpine A610, was praised by the press (including being Top Gear's Car of the Year) but a quick google shows they only made 67 RHD cars.

I was parked next to one at work the other day - Didn't realise they once did a convertible version and wondered if the owner had just modded it with a bunch of 'R' bits. Looked quite smart actually, and I don't normally like convertible Golfs, they just don't look right to me.

MINI JCW Clubman - amazingly they only ever sold two hundred and something of them in the UK.
