No wake turbulence concerns then. CIVY coming back for a missed approach, I think

Was watching on Bigjets but they’re filming from one of the hotels north of Heathrow - sadly she seems to be lined up on 27L hehe

The first one to depart looks like it’s holding over brize. Maybe the weathers a bit pants at Kemble I think it can only do a visual approach into there.

It's clearing in Kemble but pretty gusty.

Both about next to each other now. Albeit at quite different altitudes. Nice seeing 747 and 400 on Flightradar.

Heathrow to Cardiff with a flypast in less time than to Kemble. I think our pilot forgot his map.

They’re definitely getting their money’s worth. Now they can say they were the LAST BA 747 to fly. hehe

I wouldn't mind betting that the Negus 747 into Kemble had the most senior BA 747 crew on board and they thus had every intention of being the last one in the air from the beginning.

It really is impressive watching the 747 land and stop in not much distance. There was lots of spray from the reversers too.

That KLM 747 - why did they spray over the KLM/100 logos?! Everyone knows it was a KLM aircraft! It looks vandalised to me : \

Common practice, don’t let the competition or public know you’ve either had an accident or scrapped an aircraft, remove the logo.

Does seem a bit daft on a KLM or similar!

Only geeky spotters know such things, 95% of the rest of the population haven't a clue, which is why they do it, or why the airline publicity and management people instruct it to be done.

What have BA done with the 747 flight crew? They obviously need training to move to a different aircraft, and at a time when they have too many crews I can see an easy option for the business.

It happens right after an accident and is a top priority.
In the hold we even have paint and really long rollers etc and if possible we’re (as aircrew) instructed to paint over any bits we can as soon as the last passengers are off.

Obviously it’s more difficult in water or if there’s still fire and smoke around though.

I found the tail saying "KLM" was a big giveaway.
