Wait for the protests and online petitions...

(I seem to recall that Starfighters were pretty good at running out of sky even in the hands of the military!)

I think at least one of the Thunder city Buccaneers flew on a G reg in the UK before being flown out to South Africa. Either a test or ferry flight.

Correct, 3 of them in fact.
Both were given temp reg for designated test flights prior to the ferry flights all the way to SA. IIRC, Keith Hartley, then BAe Chief Test pilot did the test flights and flew them 'down south' to SA.
They were the ex-RAe Bucc's, XW987 and XW988, 988 made the flight to SA in 1996, with 987 following in 1997.
The other ex-RAe Bucc, XW986 went the same way to owner Ian Pringle, and undertook a few UK test flights before its ferry flight to SA as late as 2002.

None of them have flown since the end of Thunder City operations.

Bloody hell - talk about corporate gobbledgook.

"We have a flyable SU-22 should anyone want to make use of it" would have been fine.

The legendary Belgian Air Force pilot Bill Ongena used to do something with his F-104G that even Lockheed and its test pilots deemed impossible: a touch-roll-touch with an airplane notorious for its lack of aerodynamic friendliness at low speeds.

Stand bye to be gobsmacked.

And, it should be noted that Ongena's successor as F-104 demo pilot, Major Jacobs, died performing the same manoeuvre.
