Hi guys,

I'm currently in the process of creating a car-related business, and as part of the marketing I'm going to build up a few Instagram account related to cars.

I'm looking for someone to help me find images, write captions, plan the posts etc

The person needs to be interested in cars, and if they're into classics, that would be great. Someone who's a Petrolicious fan would be perfect!

I'd supply a detailed brief of what I'm looking for and pay £7.50 an hour. It would probably be around 30 hours of work to begin with.

It's more interesting than working at Maccy D's and for the right person would be pretty fun.

If anyone is interested, or has a son that this could be suitable for, then I'd love to hear.

Thanks!

Alastair

Working in McDonalds is pretty fun from what I've heard of people who work there. More money as well.

Like a lot of Instagram accounts, we’ll be sourcing the images from Instagram and crediting the original owners

It’s not fun, I have worked in-store, as well as worked for head office and the marketing agency that works for McDonalds.

McD’s workers over 25 have just received a pay increase to £8.00 an hour.. I’m not sure what it is for under 18s, but it will be less than £7.50 p/h

Happy for anyone to help - lads, lasses and those who prefer the ‘they’ pronoun

If anyone does know anyone who this could be good for, I’d love to hear from them. Summer holidays etc, this would be a bit of spending money for someone for not too much effort

Cheers

There was a report on the consequences of using images obtained from the Internet on "You and Yours" (Radio 4) the day before yesterday. It might be worth listening to.

Merely "Crediting" the owner of the photograph might not be good enough.

yeh, I'd be a bit annoyed if a company started to raid my instagram and used a whole load of my images for their own gain...

Pretty sure you'd need their permission if it's for a business. Artists tend not to like working for the "exposure" as that tends to be a currency not accepted by landlords and shops.
A bit like stealing a car and saying "I stole this from my local Ford dealership- they give excellent service!"

Not having a go, I want anyone starting a business to do well, just be careful you're doing it right.

Is this open to women too?

My fiancee has just finished her masters and could really do with the part time work while she finds something related to her field.

She's american, and a petrolhead, and down to her last few hundred quid before we start to run into financial difficulties.

Getty did some fishing a few years back, emailing web sites which had used their images without permission and charging £200 per image. Most people paid up as they didn't want to risk being taken to court. Getty must have made a fortune.

Therefore be VERY careful that you not only gain permission, but that the person you gain permission from is actually the rights holder.

Cheers guys, I work in marketing / advertising and am across rights-managed / royalty free / creative commons licenses etc

These are going to be Instagram fan page type accounts with no direct link to my business - similar to these accounts:

https://www.instagram.com/historics_auto

If you've not found someone yet, my GF might be interested. She's reasonably car enthusiastic and has a good knowledge of all things web, including social media. Send me a PM if of interest.
