Loud planes not on flight tracker
Discussion
Spread over the last 10-15 minutes, I just heard at least three separate flyovers in Hull, all sounded extremely noisy on full power, but above low cloud so no sighting. None are shown on flight tracker, does this mean they are military interceptions?

Yep, found them on http://www.donnyradar.co.uk/live/flights?mil=1
With names like TRSPAS01/02, SCAR01/01 & WARLOR31 I'm guessing they are practicing intercepts.

Most military flights do not use the same transponder system as civi...or at least don't switch it on.
Depends what type they are but most are ADS-B equipped these days, even the B-52s are being fitted. If American fighters they'll be using tactical hex codes which usually change every time they fly, but if you're experienced in mode-s monitoring you can usually tell what they are from the hex code range.WARLORD31 was ZJ931. Not seen mention of the others.
