I didn't see a stickied post for incredibly cool photos of trains.

This one is, I believe, from the 30's. I'm afraid I've forgotten the model of train but it, to me, is sublime.

I've seen the photo before many years ago. I remember that it is American but nothing else I'm afraid

IIRC the problem with streamlining was that it made accessing parts of the train for routine servicing very difficult. They were beautiful though and so evocative of the design ethos of the time.

I'm another fan of the Streamlined "Duchess of Hamilton"......of course the next job is to get it back into steam on the main line.

Gone backwards? You need to see a Pacer my friend. Such a leap in technology and design we're still using them today.

Interesting that the American train looks like a classic piece of art deco desgn, whilst the British train looks like an ordinary train with a metal case on...!
