It was a Contessa 32 that sunk. The owner is claiming it “could cost up to £200k to replace, although it was insured for much less”.
I just had a quick google, somewhere around £20k more like.
Are they including salvage costs for the yacht? I’m guessing salvage isn’t cheap although not £180k. I just had a quick google, somewhere around £20k more like.

I understand a new Contessa 32 from Jeremy Rogers is £200k, although I'm not sure anyone has paid that.I just had a quick google, somewhere around £20k more like.

"a formidable reputation for seaworthiness" https://www.jeremyrogers.co.uk/contessa-32-new-bui...
About 20 years ago the company I worked for did a sailing event day in Contessa 32s out of Southampton in the Solent, I enjoyed it, it was good fun and they seemed to bomb along at an impressive speed.

I’m guessing he’s after a brand new one. Strange he didn’t think it was worth that when he insured it though
He's missed the bit in insuring something about putting you back where you were before the incident. Otherwise we'll all be parking out 20 year old Lexus barges in front of a train and claiming a new RR Phantom!ThunderSpook said:

That’s because he’s replacing it with an Oyster - not a Contessa 😂I just had a quick google, somewhere around £20k more like.
