Wait until he reaches the N / NE Coast of Scotland, I used to work 12 & 20m Dive Ribs, out of Peterhead.
You think the above sounds like a big RIB?
It feels fking tiny leaving PD with a stiff North Easterly.
I've actually cut both engines out with oil pressure alarms due to the oil pickup pipes drawing air due to the boat being in mid air. (admittedly, I might have been a bit heavy on the throttles biggrin)

I think he is doing a great thing, he's a very likable guy and I hope he succeeds but if he buggers up his forecast he is going to st his pants.

This is good. A RIB magazine (I'm guessing about 20 years ago) organised a round Britain tour. As they went around Cape Wrath - the NW "corner" - the way the cliffs plunged into the sea made it all seem quite terrifying to a Midlander like me. That's at 33mins.

Pah! That's nothing! laughbiggrin (no offence meant, and I don't mean to sound like a cock)
He's in for a shock.biggrin

Good clip BTW, that is seriously tiring stuff, you think "yeah, this is fun" for about 15 minutes
Then the leg ache starts and it goes downhill from there.
Very soon you're dreaming of a warm bed.

My brother has a 6m RIB and I've been toying with buying a nearly-8m one too. However... on the odd occasion I've been out into Salcombe Bay on a lovely summer's day, after an hour I am not unhappy to be going back to the beach. I've spoken with my bro about us getting a few similar boats together to go around Britain for a couple of weeks but I don't actually think I could cope with it. I love road trips - I'll sit for hours and hours in a car in order to blast across Europe, and I'll do that endlessly (8 days to the Arctic Circle and back) but I really don't think I'd cope with a similarly-long time in a RIB.

Mix-in some less than fun weather, and... I'm probably 20 years too old for it.

I share the same sentiment, I wish him well, but feel so far that good luck has played as much of a part as planning. Fairly certain they/he have learnt a lot since the 1st episode though.

Depends on how much he "straight-lines" it. The coast, if you follow it at a fairly granular level is over 11,000miles long.

Young chap sailed around it - his route is quoted at 2500 miles.

Another great episode. Loved the island tour.

Did anyone else spot the GT Turbo at the start?

Brave, stupid or just adventurous for going that far out to sea in that little boat... I don't care. It's great fun to watch.

Really highlights the beauty of the south coast. Love it, couldn't wait to watch the new one.

If he only does it in the summer though, isn't it going to take him several years, like 10 or something? and if he carries on from now on. What is the north coast of Scotland like in January....? Not quite as pleasant as Cornwall in August I suspect!

I met him on that leg and they are as fun to be with off camera as on, lovely people and inspirational too. I would say Harry is well aware of what is facing him further along on this trip and will put a lot of effort in to get there. Very much willing them to succeed and would offer help where possible!

I guess if he picks his moments in Scotland there can be times in winter are so calm the water can be like glass.

Problem I imagine is trying to arrange his work/holiday and his support crew to go for windows of weather that far north at short notice.
I imagine he will have to leave the boat at various small villages along the coast and rely on goodwill from locals to store it ready for the next leg.

When he gets the chance to do it though, it would be epic around the west coast sea lochs with snow on the mountains. I'm insanely jealous of what he is doing!

Another great episode, seems to bump into quite a few people who have seen the videos on his travels so guess its reaching a wide audience.

I’m presuming this is an amateur effort and all the footage is captured by Harry, his drone, and his friends. I’m surprised it hasn’t been sponsored by the UK tourist boards – it should be - the scenery is fantastic.
I didn’t know the Scilly Isles looked quite as stunning as that –
Envious as hell - it’s an amazing thing to do. 26 miles across open sea in that little boat- Mad but wonderful.

Stumbled across this on YouTube too, and it’s fantastic! Great watch, story, and camera work.
