Aston owners thoughts .....

Morning all
Just wondered about people’s thoughts on their ‘ other ‘car
I am very lucky to have the V12v vantage s in the garage and is now a confirmed keeper!
So have got the pinnacle of the ice in my opinion in the garage. On Wednesday though something I though would never happen , happened
The Range Rover sport went and in came the Tesla x as a daily, all I can say is wow what an all around great car to compliment the V12vs, still getting used to the silence but have had a look at putting a deposit on their new roadster, any one else electric and big petrol now ?

Nope, I'm petrol and petrol. I have the Vantage V12 S but also have a beautiful Audi RS2. I have all the boxes ticked except the economy box. But then I probably only do a out 4k miles per year across the two cars so I call myself fairly green with my driving and not pumping out too much ste.

Lovely RS2, had a couple of hot Audis over the years but thats a classic Had an RS6 avant as daily when I got my first Vantage in 2007. It cost more to run than the Vantage though and ultimately had to go.
I have had Range Rover sport SC V8 for 8 years now and wont be getting rid any time soon. With 130k miles on it and petrol, its not worth much, yet drives as good as the day I bought it, so comfy for long distance. Hopefully it will last another 100k miles/7 or 8 years and by then electric may be more mainstream.

After Land Rover Disco, RRS and Volvo XC90 we’ve taken the plunge and gone all electric with E-Tron. Have to say it’s a super car if very quiet. Different driving experience and instant response to your right foot. Still not sure how good charging infrastructure is but for most local day to day use with charging at home it’s not a problem. With a new V12V acquisition imminent, I feel at least I’m doing a bit to offset it.

Lovely RS2. I used to own a 1988 alpine white Audi quattro MB (one of the last 10 valve models before the 20 valve RR replaced it). My daily is now an A6 2.0 Tdi Avant. Very comfortable mile eater.Edited by phumy on Saturday 15th February 15:15
Alongside my 2007 V8 Vantage we have a 2014 Audi A6 Allroad, with a 3.0L bi-turbo diesel pumping out 308hp and 650nm, which means it gets up and goes for a Two Ton Tessie. It`s a bit less involving drive than our previous 345hp funky green 4.2L petrol S6, but it`s a hell of a car regardless and uses less than half the volume of fuel than the old V8, so certainly an improvement for the planet.
The air suspension is a great feature as it hunkers down when need be, which is most of the time, and drives like a car, but can raise up considerably for off road duties etc, at which it is extremely capable. I really like the size of the Audi A6 platform vehicles, and we need this load capacity frequently, so a smaller vehicle is not viable. For this reason I have not considered electric as there is nothing available on the market that would offer me an alternative. When someone makes an A6 size estate I will certainly start looking in that direction, because for a DD and in light of the way we`ve screwed up the climate etc, I`d rather be ecological, but then I can still go out in my noise making, frowned upon ICE, just to remind people how far we have progressed...

I don’t use a ‘daily’ as such as although I’m past retirement age and still working I don’t have a daily commute.. so Volvo estate for lugging and shopping, Chimaera for top off hooning and track days, and Vantage for, er, other stuff
Only EV I’m ever likely to own will be a mobility scooter thingy. But not yet
