A lot of noisy activity going on around Shobdon at lunchtime today- low cloud and a lack of recognition skill meant I couldn't identify them properly - possibly F35s?

Odd, as we don't normally get fast jets here. It's mostly Dauphin helicopters for the bunch based at Credenhill...

I saw those too. 2 of them. Made for quite the display while I was at work!biggrin I couldn’t work out what they were but definitely had twin tailplanes. They sounded incredible.

I assume one headed out to the Mach loop, the other stuck around for half an hour or so.

There was a B52 circling around last week wasting fuel before landing at fairford.

A hawk was doing laps today too which was cool! Makes a change from the chinooks and C130’s.

Lots of activity this past week, not that I’m complaining as I love it.

I was in Kingsland so just down the road.

Cheers. How are the roadworks for the new roundabout smile

Did you see the Ospreys earlier in the year - they were very cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7PEkL5FhSA&t=...

I haven’t been down to the cross roads for a week or so but I’m not sure why it’s going to take so long to complete it. 8 weeks or something daft like that. The original diversion sent the traffic right past my house which was annoying.laugh

Yes, I did. They are a strange beast. Were quite lucky around these parts getting to see these things. I’m jealous every time a fast jet comes over. Lucky bds!laugh

There was a Navy Hawk at less than 2,000 feet around North Herefordshire earlier today that I saw on Global ADSB

I think the reg was XX231 and it comes up as Royal Navy (well it was XX231 on Global ADSB)

Looking back, pretty sure they were F-35s. The noise was something else!

You may well be right, I didn’t have my glasses on so I had no hope of properly identifying it.laugh

Another chap at work was all excited shouting “it’s one of those eurofighters with one of those things with that shoots flames out the back!” laugh

You’re right, it sounded absolutely epic. They can come around here as much as they want!biggrin

It seems you were correct.

I had a phone call earlier from somebody way more knowledgable than me asking if I saw the F15’s playing around on Monday. thumbup

not sure what silhouette that is, but the F-35 doesn't have two exhausts.

Sloppy googling on my part. Looks like that's a mislabelled F15 frown

They were out again today. Saw one of them at reasonably low level, definitely F15’s. The noise!cloud9

Not an F35, F22 or F15.

A couple of afternoons ago, an F35 flew straight out of Marham up to 10,000ft and down the A45 corridor. It then dropped down to very low level in Herefordshire and then back up again over Birmingham, across Leicestershire and back home. He was barely in the air for half an hour.

We heard it overhead at 10,000ft, went outside but never saw it, even with very high and light cloud. ADS-B reckoned it was doing 555kts, so not hanging around.
