And that's what led to wonders like the Clippers and Empires - no need to build runways!
Having been on a few float planes, I always thought a resumption of service from Calshot would be just fine.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo3UgbP-6Lo&ab...

A PHer, whose name escapes me, used to have a share in a Catalina. Wonder if he still does and if that is it?
There’s only the one in the UK. You can become a shareholder: https://www.catalina.org.uk/becoming-a-pby-catalin...Not me, although I was once tempted by a Sopwith Camel Reproduction!

It was only a consideration put forward by a chum for a half share, who has all the knowledge and skills to keep it airworthy and the local grass airstrips aren't too far away and inexpensive!
I turned down his suggestion which, in retrospect, was a stupid decision!
It gets worse. Looks like a boat collided with it and broke one of the windows. With it moored at Urquhart bay it must be near Drumnadrochit, So on the main A82 side.

There are two places boats moor in Urquart - the harbour (small square place that takes about 8 boats) and the shore by the castle. Boat traffic is either hire boats, eg from Caley Cruisers, or the ferry...
