I am collecting a BMW M140i next week and I believe that it will be the fastest car on my road (several dozen houses too). This is a title I don't think I have ever owned before, one of my neighbours had a very highly tuned Mk6 Golf R, which I'm sure held the crown for a few years, however he's moved now. There is a Mustang V8 nearby but he lives in a side street (and the 140 may be quicker anyway, the numbers look pretty close), there was an A45 but haven't seen it in about a year so assume he's gone too.

It got me thinking, do you own the fastest car on your road/street/Countryside Estate? If not, what beats you? If so, what's your nearest competition?

I probably do, although there isn't much competition. It's only a D3 V40, but everything else is pretty generic SUV type stuff.
I definately have the slowest though, a 1987 Land Rover 90. Although it would be close as a neighbour has a 1971 VW camper.

Good idea for fun topic biggrin

I'm currently toy-less, having but my girlfriend's Volvo C30 D5 wins in our (very small!) cul-de-sac.

My road has a Giulia Quadrifoglio and a biked engined seven type thing. Between them I suspect they have my Elise beaten by a considerable margin using just about any metric.

Highlights from my small street include a Kia Sorento, a Qashqai,a 1.2 Corsa & a Fiesta Fusion. So yes. (They all think I’m mad).

Monaro was 500+hp so would win the cul-de-sac, neighbour had a C5 RS6 which would've have been next on the list.

They've now moved and are renting their house out, new neighbour on the same spot has a C6 S6, so takes up the second spot on the podium.

Far from resting on my laurels however, I'm stroking the Monaro to 6.6 litres and got very spendy on the heads etc. to hopefully ensure it remains on top hehe

Our little collection of house (42) has an M3, a Mk1 Focus RS & an A110 in the collection.

My XF-S probably comes in after those lot.

Fun topic!

Not the fastest car but I am the fastest driver by a massive margin.

I can make my wife's Nissan Note 1.6 auto go faster than my neighbours with their GT2RSs, Murcielagos and 488 Pistas.

I have the best sounding.

That's infinitely more important.

There's a DB11 two doors down so umm.. no.

I do think I've got the slowest though, with 12hp. In fact I think the house across the road has a lawnmower that is more powerful (and probably faster).

Yes, my Focus ST wins since the chap across the road with the M4 moved!

Short road though. Next door neighbour has a petrol Octavia VRS . There's a diesel Jag XE, but I don't know the power output. Otherwise ordinary stuff like Astras, Fiestas and SUVs.

small cul-de-sac so yeah.

it's literally

1.4 'rolla
renault modus
cooper s I believe
lexus ux
polo 1.4
fiesta 1.2
focus 1.6
evoque
kuga
rx300
swift

and me with my toyota crown 1JZGTE and s2000 honda.

I am the loudest and most annoying for sure.

I can often hear a turbo sutututu go past so someone close might have something interesting! know there's a STI scoob somewhere.. and 2 old 'merican hotrods.

but not on my street.

Not a particularly difficult contest on my road, my 530i is the fastest, and also the nicest sounding. Unfortunately a few of my neighbours have a habit of starting their 4 cylinder diesel engines and leaving them idling for about 20 minutes before going anywhere... I was woken twice early this morning by that!

Yes, there is a Maserati Granturismo in my road and my car sounds like a coffee grinder by contrast. Not sure which is quicker though.

Mine is the only V8 in the street so could probably claim that one.
