Just got a call from an auth dealer in Kent that they have crashed my //ZM Coupe as they were warming the car for a diff oil change.
Not sure that I believe them, but they said that they will repair it. Will see what happens.

I'd be on the doorstep in the morning wanting to see the damage

Yes, I'd be wanting to see it too!

I hope it isn't too serious, and that they do a proper job.

I'd be there now seeing if it was in the car park!

Thanks all.

They said it’s being taken to a auth repair shop, so I’ll try and check it.

I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more. Whenever I pick my M135i up from the dealer the efficient dynamics shows it’s put into sports+ straight away.
I hope the damage isn’t too bad. Don’t get fobbed off, go and see it as it is now.

Thanks.
They appear to be open about it. I'll try and see it soon.

Is it a Z3M out of interest? As in; no traction control

100% I would be wanting to get my own images and assessment of any damage before I let someone work on it. That way you can effectively assess any repair work afterwards. They better not be billing you for the service either now!

Yes.
I don't really buy their story, "Experienced tech was driving 30 miles per hour.." But it was wet. They should have been very careful.

Not sure how I can get my assessment done as they are an auth dealer.
Agree that the service should be free.

An ‘experienced tech’ could be 25 years old, 8 years on the job and the majority of his work being on 320d’s.

As I said, no TC and a spikey engine. Really hope it’s not
too bad.

I'd be getting the repair done at a different main dealer. No way I'd let them do it.

I feel your pain OP. Do people generally authorise dealers to drive their cars? When I have had main dealer services I have always expressly forbid them to drive the car (or wash it) - if it needs a test drive then I will go with them.

I have worked at a few dealerships - some test drive them and other don't. For regular service work a test drive shouldn't be necessary, but a specified problem, depending what it is, may require the technician to drive it. I certainly ask for mine not to be washed. I keep my car polished and the Traffic Film Remover some dealers use remove everything...!

I do hope for the OP that the damage isn't to bad and is sorted to your satisfaction soon.

30 mph sounds a bit unbelievable

I think you really need to inspect the car in the flesh ASAP then take it from there.

Don't let them refuse your inspection if they claim H&S, off site location blah blah blah

It is YOUR property NOT theirs
