When you start dabbling with electricity you realise how good petrol and diesel are!
You certainly do! Luckily I’ve still got this to play with -

Some interesting/sad/terrifying news regarding my own torqeedo that I'll share once resolved, which to be fair to torqeedo, it almost is.
In the meantime, I'd urge you to keep the battery outside.

Oh Christ! At the moment it’s in a storage locker onboard - is it something serious enough to warrant going to get it off the boat?

In theory the risk only affects some of the older battery models - it appears there was a product recall recently. If yours is new, I’d be more comfortable with it onboard.

Ok - thanks. We’ve decided to take it off and charge it at home anyway.

I’ve used Minn Kota when fishing in Scotland and there are always warnings on the motors to slowly work up to full revs - twisting the throttle to max revs pulls too much current and burns the controllers out apparently- not sure if the same applies to Torqueedo but something to bear in mind perhaps.

That’s interesting. At the moment I’m finding the throttle a bit too much like a light switch - it’s on or off. Once I’ve had some time with it I’m sure that will change.
