It appears the original thread on this has been removed. I have been following for some time a guy called Mike Chillit on Twitter who has been doing some work on trying to identify where the aircraft is.

It appears it has potentially been found. An Ocean Infinity seabed mapping vessel has been scanning the seabed and he appears to have details of exactly where they are mapping. See his tweets one of which is here https://twitter.com/mikechillit/status/13951258219...

Mod edit: "original' thread is here:

Interesting. Although why would the original MH370 thread have been removed? There was no action in there, obviously. It was also in NP&E rather than here.

Dave.

It's a shame the original thread is in NPE as it gets lost in the noise.

Sky News Australia have picked up on the WSPR "tripwire tracking" theory and the fact that the crash location it indicates, correlates with a location independently calculated by a leading Oceanographer who had previously successfully mapped out where debris would be washed up. They appear to be favouring the "murder-suicide by the captain" scenario.

Documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcIwt2bRDkc

Interesting viewing.

Another Australian news outlet (60 Minutes Australia) released a video recently about the same thing, but with interviews with the researcher involved, Richard Godfrey - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq-d4Kl8Xh4

I thought that I'd found this on here, but can't easily track it down it now!

I think this was always going to be the only logical explanation.

But I thought they are all living on a remote island?

Watched the Netflix documentary on this, just seems to be full of crazy conspiracy theories.

That's Netflix documentaries for you, but it is frustrating.

Some of the crap they went on about is just mind-boggling and clearly being peddled by amateurs with a book to sell or other vested interest.

That's the conclusion of a former RAF Gp Capt. friend of mine too. Essentially, if you didn't want the wreckage to be found, that's where you'd put it. Overpower your colleague, turn off the cabin O2 and proceed to the deepest ocean.

Yep, it’s by far the most likely scenario given what is known about the incident. There’s no other scenario that fits it anywhere near as well.

Does it though - he had to take deliberate actions at the start of the flight (overpower/lock Co pilot out), lower cabin pressure, change course, then just sit there for 6 hours doing absolutely nothing.

Not forgetting killing 238 people along with himself.

Any suicide is difficult to understand, but this must be the most bizarre one ever?

We have had previous cases, so it's a very likely explanation.

Yeah was a bit disappointed with that. Of course because no one knows they can't present any facts but I would have like to seen some slightly less unhinged "experts" and their crackpot theories.

Especially the French woman, ooh secret cargo, AWACS jamming, then shooting it out of the sky. Yeah OK, sounds entirely plausible despite you having 0 evidence. Still got a book out of it didn't she.

Wasn't she the one demanding evidence for the suicide claim too?!

Netflix "documentaries" are as devoid if facts and actual experts as channel 5 ones.

Yes, but none of them waited 6 hours to crash the plane.

6 hours is a hell of a long time to sit on your own in silence, even if you aren't planning to kill yourself.

You're judging it with a sane mind. Of course suicide requires 'deliberate actions', even if it's just jumping off a motorway bridge.

A few years ago a German pilot deliberately flew an airliner into a mountain, killing all on board. Insanity and rational thought are generally mutually exclusive.

As for MH370, I heard that the u/c was down when it hit - the thought being that it would cause the wreckage to break up further.
