I understand talc is bad. I experience what i would say is an above average degree of ball chafe/discomfort... talc makes this go away. I guess I can't use it anymore... any alternatives? I don't really fancy cream much...

I have just bought some of the under armour boxer jock 6 inch to reduce chafing when I run and they seem good so far.

They are tighter, but comfortable as thin, which means there is just less material to rub. The material they are made from is quite shiny (best word I can find to describe) so they sort of slide rather than rub, if that makes sense

If that’s the thick yellow cream for babies then YES!
I use talk but Metanium fixes the problem rather than talc just soothing the burn

I have a few pairs of boxers and dozens of trunks style briefs. The boxers are bloody uncomfortable because chafing happens easily. Not so with briefs so I partly agree with your suggestion.

This. Your balls should not be swinging about when running.

In general, then I'd say looser clothing and thinner trousers.

For running, I like Runderwear (expensive) and Sub compression shorts from Amazon. Either way, get them off as soon as you can after a run and get showered.

For a very long run, I use Udderly Smooth chamois cream liberally. Works well for me, but the feeling is akin to stting your pants initially. Lubed bumcheeks is a disconcerting feeling, but 1000% better than chafed cheeks.
