Ask a Russian Oligarch's Superyacht crew anything...
Discussion
OP does seem to be a bit slow on the responses so I'll use my marine knowledge from my years at Carnival to try and at least part answer some of the questions!
Salary - It's all dependent on role of course but say a chief engineer on a big cruise ship would earn £60-80kpa, a captain would earn around £110-130k. Need to bear in mind that these people will be non-dom for tax purposes and so won't pay any tax on these earnings. I'd imagine the world of large private yachts you could add maybe 30% to those figures and probably still not quite hit the mark!
Fuel - For 'filling the tank' the cost of MGO is around $700/MT so the question is how big the combined tanks are. I can only guess as I don't know the yacht in question but lets say 1000mt's - $700k from empty to full!!

Thanks for the insight. Obviously next question is “Do you use your own Nectar card when filling up?”

Ever had someone blag their way onboard?
Is your cabin big enough to swing a cat, or are you bunked up with several sweaty sailors?
Not personally, but it happens. Usually another drunk yachtie. Is your cabin big enough to swing a cat, or are you bunked up with several sweaty sailors?
Cabins are shared at for junior ranks. Seniors tend to have their own. Big enough, but not palatial.

What would be the best way for a secret agent to escape the boat after being told your employer’s evil world domination plans?
The escape tunnel, then climb down the anchor chain. All of our anchors are fitted with breathing devices and can detach to become mini-subs.sherman said:
Has it ever been scraped or crashed into another boat or harbour when parking/leaving.
If so what were the consequences? Gulag?
Nope, but it happens. Damage is repaired, and money rarely an issue. Loss of use of the boat is a bigger problem. Often results in a sideways move, but as long as not gross incompetence then rarely any consequences. If so what were the consequences? Gulag?
