I think these are eye watering? I remember we needed a replacement on the 737 a long time ago. I guessed a high number and I was an order of magnitude too low.
Does all the measuring get done in that thing or does the air get piped elsewhere? And why are there two connectors? I'm assuming the outer two are the bolts.
I know they have heaters built into them to prevent icing but do they suffer aerodynamic heating too?
Shouldn't get much - aero heating at Mach 1 is about 20%, so 40-50C, and as its cold at cruising altitude it's probably no hotter than parked on the runway.
