Hi,

I was in Hastings today and thought I heard the sound of military jets overhead around lunchtime. Though not much of it.

Later on around 1610-1630 I was coming through Ashford and two military jets came over ahead of me REALLY low. Im based not that far from the hospital/m20, so used to seeing helicopters low and these seemed way lower. They were heading towards Faversham/Wye direction as if htey had come from Tenterden/Headcorn direction at a guess.

I cant see any articles/anorak pages/scheduled flights.

Anyone got any info or saw them on trackers?

Cheers

I heard and just caught a glimpse of these from my office in the Chartham area today, I also noted how low they were flying and wanted some answers but couldn't find anything apart from your thread.

I was trying to find answers to this too. I'm a few miles South of Ashford and heard a roaring jet engine at about 2pm. I opened a window and looked out to see a fighter jet thunder almost directly over our house, flying very low and heading roughly North.

Sounded awesome!

Had some roaring about going on over the Lowestoft area around six tonight, nothing showing on the usual tracker's.

These were Finnish Airforce F-18 Hornets that are operating out of Waddington. They were a up a couple of times today and decided to head South rather than over the North Sea or invading Scotland as they did last week.

I should add that the F-18s were for the afternoon sightings. The later one over Lowestoft was very likely the Lakenheath chaps who had a bit of a lie-in and didn't launch until after 4 o clock this afternoon.

4 fighters passed over the beach in North Norfolk around 4pm, seemed very low compared to normal. Had heard a few around before and after but much higher
