New launch at Dubai marina...

65' Custom Built Motoryacht, staterooms, gps navigation, twin supercharged diesels, etc. = £2.5 million.

Champagne and Strawberries, dockside, for the excited "soon to be owners" = £250.00

Crane and Rigging complete with faulty turnbuckle = £2,500 per hour

Watching your dreamboat nose dive into the harbour, accompanied by two corporate representatives just prior to "inking" the final paperwork...

Hehehe - Priceless!

Surely it wasn't the best idea being on a boat that's being hoisted rather high up?

Classy. I feel sorry for the two guys clinging on to the back. That must have been some ride.

Quite standard apparently. The fault (so I read) was that the front and rear straps weren't fastened together so when it moved in some wind, one of them came off. Of the two guys in the pic, one suffered a broken arm, the other bruised. Insurance wrote off the boat (it bounced off the bottom apparently) and that was that.

"bounced off the bottom". eek

One thing that does make me chuckle though is that one of the noted points of the £xm boat was "GPS navigation".

Reminds me of an advert I saw once for a £100k 911 Turbo. It read something like "delivery mileage 911TT. X50 pack silver with black. Third brake light" hehe

who is going to catch the rope to tie it to the quayside once "launched" and have the G&T's ready for the new owner as they step aboard?
