Looking for a Cobra 7.5m RIB or bigger, almost new would be great, also looking for a mooring next year for Cowes week, safe mooring maybe East Cowes or the Hamble.

wish i could help... we do get RIBs very occasionally, but not too often.

the boats & outboards website is usually the best place to look...

good luck with the search..!

Try this place: http://www.bhg-marine.co.uk/index.htm

I was in there last week - they are a Cobra dealer and have a really lovely brand new 755 sat in the showroom waiting for your cheque book to arrive. IIRC it's got a 250 Yam on the back.

PS - why a Cobra, can't you afford a Scorpion? biggrin

As for a mooring, have you thought about dry-stacking it? Cheaper, safer, no need to anti-foul and if you ring an hour before you arrive it will be waiting on the pontoon for you.

Hi, I work for BHG Marine, used to have a yellow VX220, but I'm not very active on here so you may not know me.

I'm on the main sales desk, as biglepton said we used to have a new Cobra 755 with a Suzuki 250 (cancelled order from Pictons which is why it had a Suzuki). We are Europes largest Yamaha dealer so usually would fit a Yamaha.

Unfortunately this is now sold - they don't hang around very long, although this was brand new.

We are running a demo weekend on the 29th and 30th September so you're welcome to give us a call and arrange a time to get out on one. In amongst all the other brands, we will be running a Cobra 755 and the new Cobra 8.6 with the new Yamaha F350 - 4 stroke 350hp engine on (most powerful outboard ever built). This engine is to be released at the Southampton Boat Show just before our demo weekend and unveiled on the Cobra (which is our boat).

I have also negotiated a deal with Garmin with a bit of press on their side to fit it out with about £5,000 worth of touch screen GPS and radar system smile at a very reasonable price.

As I said this is on the water, but probably not what you're looking for, but it would be worth getting out on the 755. We get them in every now and then but don't have any used ones at the moment.

The thought of 350hp on the back of a RIB has keep me awake last night, it's got to be mad power, is it only Yamaha going this big or are others going to follow ?

No one else is developing a 350hp engine. Current Yamaha spec is a 5.3 litre V8 four stroke.

Full details and current reviews (from Miami boat show) can be seen here on our website: http://www.bhg-marine.co.uk/news.htm (scroll down)

You can give me a call on 01590 613600 if you want to arrange a demo on the weekend. There's not too many spaces so get in quick if you are interested. Either speak to me - Dan Yeates or Ashley Glanville (she is arranging the demos).

Yeah sorry about the plug! I hope I'm not treading on anyones toes, I know on some forums I would be off by now, but the boating ones seem to be a bit more relaxed. (like RIB.net)

I'm just trying to help, got a demo booked now. I haven't even seen the RIB or engine yet! They're being delivered tomorrow! smile Not long until the show now...
