[quote]Sweet baby Jeeezus! How big is their hacksaw?!
Appears to have not only cut right through the entire ship but even through an unfortuantely placed people-carrier/4x4. Impressive stuff.

They actually used an enormous draw cable.... infact... I belive they used 1 cable per cut... Strung between two platforms anchored to the sea bed...

An amazing opperation!

All of the 'Tasman Spirit' just outside Karachi harbour in September 2003.

Not really a wreck, the 'Sea Giant' beached on Gadani Beach in Pakistan prior to breaking in September 2003, the last of a class of 4 'Batillus' supertankers, the second largest ships ever built, but with the largest Gross Registered Tonnage of any ship ever built.

Do you mean Alang, India? There's also Gadani beach in Pakistan where the old white whale SS Canberra was broken up (photo below)

WOW - I didnt realise that beach was so bad. I saw the publicity pics in a mag a few months ago and though 'oh id like to go there!' Greece isnt it? Thanks for the post wink
Honestly that pic does not show how rough underfoot the shingle actually is... its painfull to attempt walking on,3 hours each way on a boat, for an hour of pain...... the sea was lovely and blue though,so had a decent time snorkling to make up for it..... yea it was greece, well Zante we were based, pictures of this wreck all over the place, must be a great earner for them,as we were one of 5 boats who arrrived that one day....
I was there last year...Quite enjoyed the trip actually....smile

One of the most haunting sights I have ever seen - the Duke of Lancaster in the Dee Estuary.

Lady Elizabeth in the Falklands. Can't be many square-rigger wrecks that are nearly 100 years old with a yardarm still in place. Built to last! Allegedly used as an observation post by the SAS in the 82 war.

Scariest photo I have taken. "Zombie" capsized south of St Katherine's point in the 2008 Round the Island Race. All crew rescued.
