Look again - that isn't Baldrick, it's Olf, doing what he usually does. His chips are at the bottom of the barrel.

I heard that the pilot was so excited about the prospect of landing in the hudson that he failed to hit the engine restart buttons.
Ok, so -----

Possibility of a huge fatal crash in the freezing Hudson - because he wants to try it out......

or

Restarting the engines to avoid being killed.

And, you don't smell a rat on this one? And you think that if the pilot had of opted for a water landing, rather than restarting his engines - he'd still be flying today. Right......

I don't have anything new to tell you since a couple of hours ago. This is not a developing situation. I'm not making it up - I'm passing it on. Shouldn't have, clearly.

There is a long and un-distinguished list of airmen who have done exactly that. Bored now - delete all quotes and pretend I never opened my gob.

Just watched the documentary.

Incredible piece of flying.

Just incredible.

The bloke needs to be cloned, and installed as standard kit in the left-hand seat of all airliners.

I'm afraid it isn't as easy as that, laddie.

In much the same way that the CVR and FDR recordings from the Airbus in question show the crew's actions where pretty exemplary, PistonHead's BPR (Bullst Post Recorder) in the same way preserves for posterity all manner of unfounded cobblers.

The only way to be sure of deleting traces of your little gaffe is to break into PH Towers and lay about the servers with an axe, and then break into the Pie Bunker where the backups are kept and set to with a couple of hundred litres of unleaded and a Zippo.

I think not.
Watch this great CGI reconstruction . The pilot/co-pilot were totally professional through out.

Maybe - you don't know the integrity of my source though do you? The truth is we'll never know for sure...
So you didn't watch the reconstruction in my link . If you had you would have seen the cockpit transcript between the pilots & also the info about the sound of the engine igniters that can be heard.

Like I said before I don't know much about it. Just passing on the quotes. I know you armchair warriors like something to get enraged about. Keep coming with the patronising 'laddie' speak as well. Love that. You feel big, you're happy and no-one gets hurt. Win/win.

Are you going to flounce out now, or are you saving that for later?

I'm coping thanks. Bottom lip's going a bit and I'm a bit shaky but I'll hold it together.

Just in case you still have doubts, here is the full official transcript from the cockpit voice recorder.

I don't hand out 'sorry's' just to pacify Internet people. I told you what he said. S'all. It didn't come with assurances or warranties. Get over yourself.
