I know nothing about sailing or yachts, but saw a nice looking one today here in Barcelona and it made me think of this thread because myself and Mrs R tried to guess whether it would be close to the £60M entry bar.

We both guessed.... no!

The yacht was Nirvana and google puts it around £200M

Oops!!
Was Secret still there? Both in weekend before last.

Yes it was.

My newly discovered interest in yachts was sufficiently stirred that I wandered back down today to see what else was there and looked big. Secret was right next to Nirvana. There were a couple of others that also looked plush and there was a big, but not-so-big one with a helicopter balancing precariously on the back off it.

Dilbar yikes

The size of the proper big ones is just unfathomable.

At 156M it's gigantic and a smart looking yacht.

It is the current chase boat (Support Vessel) for M/Y Flying Fox, both for sale. She will be at the Monaco Yacht Show later this month. I used to manage the first one of the class, M/Y Garcon which was the support vessel for M/Y ACE which I also looked after.

And not wanting to come over all Comrade Corbyn - it is mildly obscene how the line of those yachts are just sat idle at the behest of an owner. Doing nothing but burning cash.
But they employ a large crew and support a whole host of companies and suppliers.

Captain and most of the officers on Dilbar are ex Royal Navy.

The Lurssen yacht mentioned previously is definately launching in 11 months. It's 146M. As yet unnamed. 10m less than Dilbar. designer told me it's a 500m usd project.

I thought the current largest yacht under build by Lurssen is Project Redwood at 139m+ but she is due for delivery in 2019. Project Thunder is currently on sea trials but she is 'only' 135m.

There is project SHU but I think that will be late 2019.

Saw this boat between Agios Nickolas and Elounda yesterday, have no idea what boat it was but looked stunning, complete with helicopter on the back.

Sorry for the iPhone pic's, have better taken with the camera and telephoto but no laptop until home

Impressive yacht! Did you mean "On delivery she will be the largest and most ecologically advanced pirate sailing yacht in the world." though? smile

Just flew over this on the weekend, I like a good sail yacht, but this looked pretty awfull IMHO.

Had a weird foremast which isn't shown on the video

It isn't a foremast. It is a retractable mast which has the anchor light on.

Didn't realise that that it was retractable, I assume the large boxes on that mast are deck lights.

To be fair, there was a fair mixture of super yachts anchored off the port, some being shall we say an acquired taste.
