Currently moored in Patong bay, Phuket, Thailand, no idea of it’s name, or if it’s over £60m, but massive nonetheless!

It’s Venus. Built for Steve Jobs. He died before it was finished. I believe it’s owned by his wife. Not my taste at all but yes over 60m. About 80m based on reports.

Don’t think it is, is it? Thought Venus was much more squared off...

Looks to be Vava II. Bertarelli family. The front always gives it away.

Just for a minute I was going to ask why that upper platform has a step up as it leaves the side, rather than being flat, and how much more expensive it would make everything. Then it dawned on me.

Both clearly extend hydraulically from the side, but I'd like to think the parasol on the lower one is somehow linked and automatically unfurls when the platform is opened.

The parasol and furniture are out out by the crew once the platform and rails are fitted.

Is it me, or is that a super-tight helipad?

It absolutely is.

Lots of like for that.

No silly swoopy 'giant speedboat' bodywork getting in the way of the view from inside or the balconies.

One thing I just don't get. A gazillion dollar yacht and a $20 parasol. Go figure.

For a complete outsider, "A" still has got it, for me.

I guess part of this superyacht owning is showing off, "A" has a unique unrivalled shape that stands out everywhere.

OK, it is around for some years now, but it´s no shed I guess ?

Spent a couple years on the build of that one, was a fantastic job, much better than the normal naval ships and subs we normally work on. Such a shame it was the last one to be built in our yard.

That looks like the puppy! Definately worth more than £60m, estimated £150m build according to google. Glad I’ve seen it, she moved off earier this afternoon. No helicopter on her though the whole time she was here. Did see one buzzing around the bay yesterday but seem to big to fit?!

Mrs Bertarelli grew up just down the road from me. Very normal childhood. Where did I go wrong?

Oh, yeah, she's a LOT better-looking than I am.

Plenty written about the family due to they Americas Cup campaigns which I have followed for years. Not only is she very attractive but she comes from wealth herself. Not billions but wealth. Doesn't bother me that they inherited their money. They do plenty of good with it and his yacht is classy enough smile
