Can’t even fathom how much that must cost to run. £20m+ a year?

Yep. I was told first hand that Flying Fox was £20M 'in port' annual running cost. So add fuel use and port fees onto that number. It too has a crew of 60. Similar size length wise, wider, bigger volume.

Watched a programme about Bismark last night, made me realise how slow most of these yachts are. Bismark could do 30 knots 80 years ago

(I realise its a physics thing related to waterline length in less you have a planing hull).

I still want Octopus. When I saw the price I thought "great" then I noticed the M after the number........ frown

I'm sure if you went after speed you could get a superyacht well over 30 knots these days... Paying for the fuel would be a bit of a bugger even for a billionaire though.

An interesting post here: https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/143454-log...

In 1942 Tirpitz used 0.66% of Germany’s fuel and it was sat around on tick-over for most of that!

I'm surprised no Russian oligarch has commissioned a nuclear powered yacht yet...

Just Js was parked at Hvar for most of the second half of August.
I was more impressed by the "tender" "Not Just Js" to be honest!
