Amazing to think that in 1909 Louis Blériot was the first man to cross the channel in an aeroplane, and only 50 years later nine Hawker Hunters were saluting his achievement, in front of Blériot's widow. And sad to know that the magnificent engineering achievement of the commercial cross-channel hovercraft are consigned to being museum exhibits now.

Appears to go from 'stupid prat', to 'lucky blighter' to 'well played sir' in the space of 15 seconds. But could be wake turbulence causing the initial problem.

Not compared with a 777, but you can get enough from an AN2 to cause problems so it's possible.

Just wondering. The Bonanza's approach was a bit "sporty" so he didn't give himself a huge margin to stabilise the approach.

If he got caught out by turbulence from the Trimotor he left himself with limited margins. Having put himself in a rather awkward position, he recovered well - although I think he's done a fair bit of damage to his aeroplane.
