Ok, so that made me miss flying. What a glorious day for it smile.

Amazed by the lack of looking around by the pilot though. Maybe it's just not clear on the footage, but a lot of heads down/straight ahead/reliance on screens? I presume he was VFR?

Nice few minutes at the Michael Beetham Conservation Centre RAF Museum Cosford. Showing the current state of work on the Vickers Wellington and Handley Page Hampden.

Interesting - thanks for the link.

The Michael Beetham facility opens its doors to the public a couple of times of year. One of the occasions is on the weekend of Scale Model World at Telford. Cosford is not far from Telford and the large gathering of model makers makes a nice audience for the work at Cosford. I've popped in a few times although not for the past few years. It's interesting to see the progress being made on the Hampden since my last visit.

Not so much the water, but that seems to come in at a fair lick. Is that a usual approach speed?

Plenty or margin required to ensure he makes it over the water.

SR-71 Pilot Maury Rosenberg talks about the one time he decided to request a "fly-by" over the Sacramento airport on his way returning to Beale AFB- where he was going to land.

Don't show the bean counters at the MoD this, they might have new ideas on cutbacks to the red arrows - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SalQeXSjyvY

I still want one.

Apologies if already posted.

If you remember Air Fete '88 and long for that carefree attitude to health and safety then Hungary is the place to go:

I can't remember ever seeing an aircraft displaying below the crowd line!

Regarding the Hungarian helicopter, is it surprising that very few people were watching from that road bridge? I guess they were to scared!

I remember seeing a B17 do that at Biggin in about 78. The same pilot who later tried to barrel roll an A26.
