Apologies if re-post, but John Nicholl being flown supersonic in a Thunder City Lightning back in the day.

https://youtu.be/b-4wuvw_5GM

I like the way he says “I’ve done this, I know” when being shown how the ejector seat works.

Same plane and pilot that crashed in 2009.

If he needed to eject it's likely it would not have worked.

Mr Kaman’s first such helicopter flew way back in 1947. Why use one set of rotor blades when two will do?

I love B1-B's, and this popped up on my YT feed earlier:-

Go to 2:42 for a spectacular twilight take-off from Nellis over Las Vegas.

What’s that pod poking out from under the right hand side of the fuselage behind the forward undercarriage? Have they introduced on-board WiFi?

Always looks like odd design as you're wasting power with the off axis lift, but presumably it wastes a lot less power than having a tail rotor or carrying enough fuselage to fit a more conventional twin rotor design, and much less complex than coaxial rotors. Clearly works though, it can lift more than it's own weight!

The protrusion is a "Lightening Pod" which is a targeting pod for precision weapons.

His other videos on the British carrier group operating in the Pacific in the second world war are really interesting, with voices of the crews taking part.
