such a shame the shutter speed was too high.
I got to see both and the Vulcan together going over the turf cutting on the International bomber command memorial...a sight I'll never forget

Kermit Weeks checking out his Fantasy of Flight after Irma hit - https://youtu.be/BquXX4WGmTU?t=266 <-- free tour biggrin

Considering the damage they got from Andrew on 1992 and they are still restoring aircraft from that one. Irma was bigger so they took a lot of precautions this time.

Hurricane Andrew 1992 damage.

Yes - good to see that the worst damage appears to have been to the carpet.

I like the 'climbing up from ten feet to twenty' because they were leaving a dust trail.

I did see a film from one of those events when I was in the ATC, the one where some station had to track them and commented along the lines "if you want to see some flying, go outside". It was on a reel obviously. No idea if that ever made it to digital.

I remember seeing black and white USAF range footage from the late 1970s on the news showing Buccaneers flying low and fast over the desert. Dust was being kicked up by the wing tip vortices.

That interview has shed light on my distant but still vivid memory of Buccaneers flying low level exercises (which I now understand must have been Red Flag) and the reaction of the watching/filming Americans. I don't suppose any such footage still exists?

A very poignant video, the government decided it was too expensive to convert Eagle to operate Phantoms so they decommissioned Eagle not long after this video. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Eagle_(R05)#Refi...

I remember something on TV ( Yorkshire Region ) with a Buccaneer very low in the desert and the wing tip vortices whipping up the dust with an American sounding very impressed, must have been the same clip.

Could have been Red Flag, I can't remember but my memory of 1 excercise was Giant Voice where I remember the Vulcans doing that in 1974.

I remember the clip, the American saying things like 'watch this if you want to see something good, just look at that'
