Weird CoG to be able to balance on two wheels, too.
reminds me of this aviation principle "if it does not look right, it does not fly right" ...

The P39 Airacobra for example is another example of a middle engined aircraft, that the yankees deemed too dangerous to fly and shipped 2/3 to the Soviet Union ...

Have any Reno racers tried putting a Griffon into a Mustang yet?
I know Thom a bit in fact and managed to seat in Precious Metal (on the ground) and you are just sitting on steel... So he actually say that they have no idea of what is the max bhp... it has never been measured.

Ugly sod isn't it !
I'd have expected a Griffon Mustang to look more like the Martin Baker MB5

Would have expected there to be a mechanical interlock that prevented retraction whilst there was weight on the leg.

My dad served with the RAF in N.Africa in WW2. They were just about to start up engines one morning when one erk noticed that the u/c was selected 'Up' and raised the alarm. Some sneaky saboteur had managed to do this on most of the squadron's planes during the night.

An ex-RAF guy (engineer of some description, he didn't go into much detail) told me that the Lightnings did this on purpose when they were doing a quick takeoff - apparently as soon the plane left the ground the undercarriage would retract.

I thought it might be a Republic F-84F. It seems to have a tail bumper.

It could be Greece, Turkey or former Yugoslavia.
