First ever flight on a 787 (Dreamliner).

Powerplant is a work of art - I have a small JP fan blade in my lounge, I'd love one of these blades, but pretty sure:

a: Would have trouble getting it in the car
b: Sister D would have a fit
c: I could not afford it...

I think that the whole aircraft is beautiful.

Flying can opener. Hurricane IID fitted with two 40mm Vickers S gun. Very successful against German armour with this armament so I read.

Also, Wellington Mk II prototype with dorsal mounted Vickers S gun turret. Looks like a portly chap struggling with his press ups. Why would they need such a big gun in the dorsal position? Wouldn't multiple machine guns be better against fighters?

In the same category, on the other side: the Ju-87 G "Kannonenvogel".
it was equiped with two 37mm anti armor cannon which made it very slow and not very manoeuverable. However in the hands of someone like Rudel, it became a very effective anti-tank weapon to the point that Stalin wrote a special bounty for the one-legged (later may be) pilot. He ended the war with 2500 missions, more than 500 tanks destroyed (and a Cruiser)

And even bigger, the Henschel Hs129 with a 75 mm cannon. At the time it was employed the Lufwaffe did not have enough air cover for this one to be effective.

i was reading an article about the B-25 with the cannon. Apparently it was manually loaded and the smell and gases inside after firing a few shots were tough to bear for the crew. Also they had to get rid of the co-pilot to make room for all this which in the Pacific was a serious issue.

Never heard about that experimental P51 with two recoiless guns but looks nice and surely not awesome to fly as most of these heavy loaded airplanes.
