A friend of mine piloted B1 Lancers against ISIS, at the same time that the Russians flew their B1skis. He said that whilst superficially similar, the Blackjack was much less effective than the B1 as it was limited to dropping dumb iron bombs; it didn't have the B1 capacity to drop guided munitions.

Is it mandatory to quote that picture when replying? Have I just broken some rule?

They ended up painting the ablative material white because some of the X-15 pilots weren't keen on flying a pink aeroplane.

B-52H reg number 61-0023 sitting on celebrity row at AMARG Davis-Monthan.

This is why it's a celebrity - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihAEyZ25qfU

3 days after that incident a B-52 D lost it's vertical stabiliser, the crew bailed (2 survived, 3 perished) and it crashed in the Savage mountains, along with 2 nuclear bombs - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1964_Savage_Mountain...

Amazing photo taken by Richard Cooke using a camera mounted on the tail of a 2 seat Hunter using a remote release button and a rear view mirror.

Would a Bucc be able to operate off the new carrier? (if they strung an arrestor wire across it of course).

They'd have to saw off the ski-jump and fit some catapults first - it's bigger than the old Ark so no other reasons why not wink
