The F Mk 1, F Mk 1A, F Mk 2, T Mk 4, F Mk 52 and T54 Lightnings had the 'witch's hat' fins.The F Mk 2A,F Mk 3, F Mk 6, T Mk 5, F Mk 53 and T Mk 55 had the larger squared off fin.

In terms of the Lightnin, 92 Sqn only flew the F Mk 2 (at RAF Leconfield from 1963 - 1965, thence in Germany at Geilenkirchen from 1965 - 1968, thence at Gutersloh fromm 1968 - 1971). and the improved F Mk 2A (at Gutersloh from 1968 - 1977).

What aircraft is this please? I’m unfamiliar with it. Wondering if F89 is similar, but nose is much longer.

I never really noticed any similarity with the F-89 Scorpion, but now that you mention it.

And they are both products of North American Aviation.

Ah! Thanks for that.
Scorpion pre dated the T-2 by a decade, but you can see similarities in tail, wing position and engine placement.

"On 10 April 1978, while engaged in exercise RIMPAC 78 a United States Navy Sea King helicopter operating off the Canadian tanker HMCS Provider (AOR 508) made a ‘mayday’ call because of a low fuel state.
Despite being tasked with remaining with the main body, HMNZS Waikato proceeded at best speed in the direction of the distressed helicopter. Contact with the aircraft was made and the pilot Lieutenant Commander James Bateman was informed that Waikato was prepared to accept it onboard if he so wished.
The pilot opted to attempt to land-on, despite the less than calm sea conditions and the relatively small flight deck for the big helicopter. His only other option was to ditch in the sea, which would almost certainly have led to loss of life. In a skilful piece of flying the helicopter landed on board with less than 30 seconds fuel remaining.
The Commanding Officer of HMNZS Waikato, Ian Bradley, was cautioned by the Naval Staff for his actions in putting the ship at risk from a serious accident For saving the crew and the aircraft the ship was given an award from the U.S. Navy."

k'in 'ell thats some serious delamination I wonder if the air pressure held it together until it landed then it just fell apart like a badly made blancmange being tipped out of its mould.
