The specs of that ugly looking brute are remarkably similar to those of the Rotodyne, and given that first flew 6 decades ago rotorcraft haven't come very far.

I popped up there on Saturday lunchtime too with the youngest but decided against getting out as the wind was a bit fresh and she was tired.
I do love popping up to Sywell for a look at what's flying around.

24 F-22 Raptors, a C-17 Globemaster III and an E-3 Sentry gathered on the JBER flight line.

This close formation taxi, known as an Elephant Walk, happened March 26, 2019, as part of Polar Force here on Joint Base Elmendorf-RIchardson in Alaska. This two-week exercise gives squadrons an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities to forward deploy

It was flying at Oshkosh last year. I hope he has carried out sufficient stress tests on the airframe.

I spotted this unusual aeroplane today, dropping in to Blackbushe on runway 07. It was dead ahead of me on it's approach as I drove down the A30...
