The specs of that ugly looking brute are remarkably similar to those of the Rotodyne, and given that first flew 6 decades ago rotorcraft haven't come very far.

A 1961 Beech N35 (Bonanza) which clearly survived, and was repaired, after one of it's previous pilots landed with the gear up in 2001 at Earls Colne...
