I understand just because. But why, is there a problem they where trying to solve or a particular performance range they are aiming for?

I think the design brief was to build something more mental than the "Screamin' Sasquatch" jet powered Waco, and hence be crowned the undisputed king of mental at Oshkosh.

Someone needs to pay Cameron Inc to build an XP82 lookylikey with PW100s and and whatever podded turbine will fit under the midsection; I think that would raise the bar suitably.
