Sea Mosquito: I had no idea there was such a thing!
Developed to take Barnes Wallis' Highball bouncing bombs into action against Japanese capital ships, originally. But although they deployed onto carriers, they never saw action before the Japanese surrendered.

More work was then done with them, and they went into service after the war, but not aboard carriers, only at RNAS Ford, Sussex, and then only for a year. They came about too late, the world was changing, a lighter DeHavilland aircraft, the Sea Hornet, replaced them at first, then the jet age changed naval aviation forever.

Scary job being the landing Batsman for a Mosquito landing, mind...

Origin of the phrase "cut and run" perhaps? wink

The batsman couldn't be seen by a Mossie pilot in his normal position to the side of the arrester gear, as he was obscured by the engines. So he had to stand near the centre line, and duck and run to avoid losing his head on the wing leading edge... yikes

A couple of Iranian developments...

This looks like a reworked JetRanger

Going by the exhausts I think this is based on a Bo105

I love the Iranians they're the aircraft equivalent of those dodgy ferrari kit cars you see where its supposed to be a 430 but a guy called jedd based it on a cougar and while objectively it looks fundamentally about right for a car but there's something all creepingly wrong about it.

That bottom photo looks like a barbie attack helicopter. I’m sure their neighbours are scared.

You know nothing, it is "desert pink", and old SAS trick, they painted such schemes on Land Rovers, it is a Pinkycopter

More likely based upon the AH-1 Cobras they have had since the 1970s. Just like their F-5 knockoffs.

I am not after any image in particular, but a lot of the "art" photos for me generate in interest in other work from that photographer...a credit/link etc to the source would be handy.

You can "search" Google for any online images if someone forgets to link where they got it from.
